Flatlay Fete Party

Flatlay Fete Party by Celebration Stylist

The #FlatlayFete was a blogger party that I hosted at my house, sponsored by Cambria USA, the quartz company that I used for my new countertops. If you're not familiar, Flatlays are when a blogger lays out products on a nice backdrop and takes a photo from overhead. And when approached by Cambria about an event, we thought Flatlays on their different slabs of quartz would be a really fun (and useful) activity, and it was!

FLATLAY FETE PARTY

When guests arrived, the first thing they saw at the Flatlay Fete party was my newly wallpapered entrance wall thanks to Tempaper Designs. {You can read all about the install here} It was perfect to display my bar cart for self serve drinks and the goodies, provided by Cambria, for guests to take home. We also used it as the backdrop for several photos too! Beyond that, guests walked into my kitchen, which I will do a full reveal on soon. We had Cambria cheese boards and macaroons for guests to munch on. Then, there was the Flatlay station where we provided 3 different gorgeous slabs and props like flowers, greens, books, feathers, candles, and other small items for guests to style and photograph. We also told them they were welcome to bring anything else of their own if they wanted to. They styled their slabs and then stood on a bench I provided so they could get good overhead shots. Before the party, I switched out all the lightbulbs to the brightest ones I could find so the photos would turn out nice, even after sunset.

When we weren't taking photos, we were gathered around my new kitchen island, chatting and sipping rose for hours. It's nice to talk to other people that do exactly what you do! Guest went home with Cambria goodies, including their own quartz slabs to use in photos or for cheese boards. This was the first big event we have had at our house since the kitchen was re-done and it still isn't completely done (is it ever?). The shelves, backsplash, and pulls weren't finished yet but I don't think anyone really noticed. I was really happy with how the event turned out and realized how much I love hosting events in my home. It's a lot easier than hosting elsewhere, in my opinion. Thank you to Cambria USA for making this event possible and to Tempaper for the lovely wallpaper backdrop.

  5. This was such a fun evening - and your remodel is absolutely stunning! I completely renovated my kitchen a few years ago - using dark, shiny, beautiful granite -- and started blogging after that... Grrrrr... can't use my kitchen to shoot anything... too dark. Yours is perfect! Thanks for a wonderful time!
