Oscar Viewing Party

I don't normally post on Wednesdays but with the Oscars coming up on Sunday, I wanted to make sure I sent some inspiration your way before the big day! I look for any excuse to get my girlfriends together and with all of us getting busier and busier, sometimes just getting together in comfy clothes to watch TV is all we need. And awards shows like the Oscars are always a favorite. I can't resist a theme so I had to create this quick and easy set up even though it was just a laid back night in. 

I teamed up with fashionable living blogger, Kathleen from Endlessly Elated to create an Oscar Viewing Party. I styled my coffee table and she created the delicious apps, hop over to her blog to check that out here. I included chocolate covered strawberries, popcorn, kisses, and black and white cookies, and of course, wine! The black and white stripes just remind me of a black tie affair with tuxedos so I thought that was a perfect fit. The pops of red are a nod to the red carpet. And what's a viewing party without popcorn? The lightbox is one of my favorite ways to add a special touch to any event because you can quickly customize it with any saying. In my opinion, it kind of lends itself to the showbiz vibe too so I had to have it. I will be featuring some more, easy coffee table inspiration when I can because sometimes, a big elaborate party just isn't necessary.
