DIY: Interactive Donut Bar for a Party

A couple of weeks ago I created a donut bar for Swoozie's 16th Birthday Party in Palm Beach. I wanted to create something interactive and not just a typical donut bar where all you do it pick out what donut you want to eat. With this donut bar, your guests can actually glaze their own donuts and add sprinkles for a fun little activity that their customers really loved. If you are super ambitious then you can even have a donut maker on hand for guests to actually make their own donuts too.

What you'll need:

2 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons water
food coloring
plain cake donuts

1. Whisk water, powdered sugar, and a drop of food coloring together until you get the consistency you want, you may need more or less water than listed above.

2. Sift to remove any sugar lumps.

Now you're ready! Easy right? Just put your donut on a big plate, spoon the glaze over the top, and pour some sprinkles on it! I suggest having some cute boxes on hand for anyone that wants to take theirs home.

I got a lot of questions about the balloons! I made the sprinkles on my Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine with vinyl and just stuck them to giant pink balloons. Cute, right?

Happy Birthday to my favorite store, Swoozies, and thank you for allowing me to host your party! The donut bar was a huge hit!!
