You Are My Sunshine Party

I have been wanting to do a "You Are My Sunshine" party for a while, I think it's such a sweet theme. So when a new client called me asking for it, I was thrilled to do it. It was her daughter's first birthday and she was having her party at the Boca Raton Children's Museum where I have done several parties before, including Lilah's first {here}.

The party mom {as I always like to call them} wanted something sort of rustic and she had really liked this baby shower that I had styled so I tied in elements from that as well. The backdrop was the same, white sheers which flowed nicely with the white curtain behind it that the venue already had in place. I used my Cricut Explore to cut out the banner, cake topper, and her name which I hung from the backdrop. At the very last second, I decided to quickly put together the white balloon garland which I added to the top to mimic clouds, and I'm glad I did. One day I will do a tutorial on how I do it, it's very quick and easy to make.

Sunflowers were the perfect flower for this theme so I used them all throughout the party. They are pretty inexpensive and usually easy to find at Trader Joes. The "You Are My Sunshine" wooden sign I just stumbled on at Hobby Lobby, and it was on sale, so that was definitely meant to be. I painted the edges pink and it was the perfect addition. The glittery, ombre, wooden ONE letters are from Dip'd by Dolce. She found me on my Instagram {follow} and she was just the sweetest. She came up with so many great ideas for me to choose from and we settled on a simple but gorgeous ombre. She creates amazing custom letters for any theme. I use letters or numbers in some way in virtually every party that I style so I will definitely be using her again.

I'm so happy with how everything turned out, I love the mix of pink and yellow and so glad I decided to throw in that balloon garland. They're really a favorite of mine right now. Below are the sources for most of the items, if I missed anything, drop me a note in the comments and I will update!

PS- I totally didn't post last week but it's summer and summers are tough, am I right?
