Graduation season is here! Decorating for parties can feel really intimidating and overwhelming. But don't let that stop you, in reality they can actually be quite simple. I'm breaking down my stress free graduation party into 3 easy steps. No matter the size of your event, the focal point of any party is always the cake table. If you focus on that as your main area for decor, it will feel less intimidating. Here are my tips for styling the perfect graduation party cake table with the Graduation Party supplies you'll need.
THE PERFECT GRADUATION PARTY SUPPLIES
1. Pick Your Colors: Black and white is classic for a graduation party! And I like to throw in a pop of gold too. You can also consider using the school colors of the school the guest of honor graduated from or will be attending in the future. Stick with your color selection for all of your party decorations.
2. Cake: As the saying goes, "a party without a cake is just a meeting". You have to have a cake! Not to mention the cake is always the centerpiece of any cake table display. For my party, I opted for something different and used an ice cream cake. I definitely did not regret it. The I Love Ice Cream Cakes come in many different styles and sizes, including original Carvel®, Jon Donaire® and OREO®. They had sheet cakes and round cakes, I usually go for the rounds so I can display them on a cake stand.
I purchased the Carvel® Ice Cream Cookie Cake which is vanilla ice cream sandwiched between giant chocolate chip cookies and rolled in those delicious crunchies. It's like everyone's two favorite things in one! I love Carvel Ice Cream cakes for 2 reasons {well, besides the fact that they're delicious} they're available at your grocery store in the freezer aisle or bakery section anytime nationwide and you can easily customize them with a message or cake topper so they fit any occasion. Oh and your guests will LOVE you. People that usually turn down cake at my events were definitely opting into a slice of this one. It's just irresistible.
3. Decorations: A graduation party doesn't have to be complex or over the top. Get some plates and napkins that fit the theme, a banner, a few honeycomb balls, and maybe some balloons. Don't forget the drinks! Put the cake on a cake stand for photos before serving and you have yourself a perfect no stress graduation party.
Besides a cake table, have a separate table for food or appetizers and any additional drink selections. You can also have a welcome sign at the door if you'd like and that's all it takes. Whether it's a small family gathering or a big event with both friends and family, there's really no need to stress over anything else. Pick up your ice cream cake while you're at the grocery store and pop it in the freezer until you need it. I got mine from my local Publix but you can find a retailer near you, here. You can even buy it way in advance since it's frozen, one less thing to think about on party day.
