The Best Way to Experience Disney Magic Outside of Disney World

Lilah is 3 years old which is prime Disney age but Chloe is only 4 months old and we aren't quite ready to bring her to Disney World just yet. We used to go several times a year since we are only a 3 hour drive away but we haven't been in almost a year at this point. It makes me feel bad for Lilah because she just loves it so much, and honestly, so do we.

When I saw Disney on Ice was coming to South Florida, I knew we had to go. I used to go with my mom when I was younger and I was so thrilled to be able to bring my daughter now. I have the best memories of going to see Disney on Ice many, many times growing up. We went last weekend and sure enough, she loved it!

Disney on Ice is hands down, the best way to experience Disney if you can’t make it to Disney World.

And for a fraction of the price too! Tickets start at only $16. Kids under 2 are free. I wasn't really sure if she would sit for a show that long but she was completely mesmerized and watched the entire thing and so did her younger {2 year old} BFF that came with us. In true Disney fashion, the show was very entertaining for both kids and adults. It was very Cirque du Soleil meets Disney World. Besides watching her little face light up as her favorite characters took to the ice, we loved watching the stunts, acrobatics, and special effects. Even my husband that was missing football to go, was very impressed, and trust me, that's really saying a lot.

What to Expect at Disney on Ice

-It's about 2 hours or so with an intermission.

-Look online before you leave for information on how large of a bag your particular venue will allow you to bring in.

-They have great Disney merchandise for purchase before, during, and after the show. We couldn't pass up the snow cone in a Frozen souvenir cup or a new Belle plush doll.

-It's NOT cold. This was surprising to me considering it was on ice but we were seated very close to the ice and the temperature was about the same as you would expect at any other event, no extra layers needed. I wore jeans and a tshirt and the kids wore leggings and everyone was comfortable.

-Make sure you arrive with enough time to park, go through security, and find your seats.

-Each show is different but we saw "Mickey's Search Party" which featured all your Disney favorites {Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Donald} and a great lineup from the Coco, Moana, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Aladdin, Toy Story and The Little Mermaid.
