How to Style Kitchen Shelves: Modern Farmers Market Style

Thank you to Yankee Candle for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

When we renovated our kitchen, we put in these open shelves by the sink which I love to style for different holidays and seasons. With summer slowly winding down, I teamed up with Yankee Candle to create a farmers market inspired look for the start of fall. Here’s how you can recreate this look in your home.

1. Yankee Candle Farmers Market Collection- First and foremost, candles. I love getting new candles each season, especially in the kitchen, which is where we usually entertain our guests. The new Farmers Market Collection from Yankee Candle is so perfect for creating that warm, modern farmer’s market feeling I was going for. The scents are so inviting and fresh. My favorite is the Ciderhouse fragrance. It smells like delicious apple cider. The colors are just perfect for fall too. I like to have several nearby that I can easily grab and light when guests arrive or as I’m cooking dinner for my family. Candles can really set the mood for any gathering and also serve as decor.

2. Color Palette: For this look, I wanted to use warm tones, mostly shades of red and copper. I started with 3 Yankee Candles as my anchors, one on each level. Then, I added in coordinating accessories to fill each shelf. I wanted to include lavender also, so I used the candle on the top shelf and some dried lavender on the bottom to balance out the pop of color. Copper mugs and straws contrast nicely to the natural wood pieces.

3. Fresh: To really bring home that Farmers Market feel, I wanted to bring in as many farm fresh elements as I could. Greenery, flowers, fruits, and juice are all reminiscent of the farmer’s market. Some wood accessories are also nice to bring in that warm, natural feeling. I used a small cutting board and a wood sign I made that reads “farm fresh”. Visit your local farmer’s market to see what they have!
