For Eli's first birthday, his mom wanted us to create a colorful Superhero First Birthday party. It was a jam packed party with activites provided by the location, {The Little Gym of Boca/Delray}, a "Choose Your Identity" Mask Station, Make You Own Cape Station, all the food their little bellies could take, AND an ice cream truck (blasting none other than superhero music)! How fun!!
Right when you walk in the Superhero first birthday party, the first thing you saw was the "Choose Your Identity" station with capes from this Etsy shop and masks from this one. Then straight ahead was the cake table. The backdrops for the cake table and the gym, I designed and had printed. The one in the gym was a huge 10' x 10'. It was amazing!! I used the large smash and bam superhero cutout signs throughout the party on the welcome sign, cake table, and backdrop. I spray painted wooden letters from Michaels and decorated the Light Up Sign to complete the sentence "Super Eli is One". On either side of that, were some props I collected and a batman figurine and superman figurine. The cake smash high chair is explained in this post: How to Make a First Birthday High Chair.
Then in a separate party room, were the kid's tables. We used the superhero paper plates, cups, napkins, and utensils on chevron table cloths. {TIP- when possible, always use fabric tablecloths for an upgraded look.} The centerpieces were clear skyscraper candy buckets stuffed with colorful tissue paper to hide the balloon weights. The balloons were 24" round with superhero masks, made with a Cricut Explore, taped to the balloons. Lastly, the favor bag were also made using a Cricut to cut out the logos of all the superheroes.
This Superhero first birthday party was definitely one to remember!

Great pics! Do you by any chance still have the backdrop and/or design available? If so, are you able to sell it?
ReplyDeleteWhich one? There's 2 above. And do you have a backdrop stand or empty wall to accommodate it? Please email me at Jessica@thecelebrationstylist.com
DeleteHow did you make the striped backdrop, if you don't mind me asking?
ReplyDeleteI made it in photoshop and had it printed. You can also try to find designs on Etsy that you like and can have printed.
DeleteWhere do you print? I don't have a printer at home, but who can print a 10'x10' backdrop? Do you have to provide the paper?
ReplyDeleteWhere do you print a backdrop that's 10'x10'? I'm looking for that size. I don't have a printer. Do you have to supply the paper? About how much does that cost?
