DIY Drip Cake That's Store Bought - Life Hack

DIY Drip Cake That's Store Bought by The Celebration Stylist

So I'm posting a day late but with GOOD reason!! I just hit publish on my very first YouTube video! It's been something I've wanted to do for a long time but was too intimidated to tackle. I finally got up the courage to do it. And for my first video, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN DIY DRIP CAKE

This video is a total life hack for how to make a DIY drip cake using a store bought cake. I literally grabbed this cake out of the freezer at the grocery store. The candy is from Oriental Trading, they have any amazing selection of lollipops and fun candy for projects like this. The whole transformation took about 15 minutes, I promise it's super easy. Drip cakes are so trendy right now and look so great for parties. You can use different colors and candies to match just about any theme.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR YOUR DIY DRIP CAKE:

CAKE
SPATULA
1 BAG OF CANDY MELTS
HEAVY CREAM FOR THINNING
SPRINKLES
LOLLIPOPS
GUMBALLS

1. Remove any garnishes and smooth frosting with spatula.

2. Put cake in refrigerator while you melt the candy melts on the stove.

3. Heat the candy melts on low-medium heat while continuously stirring so the candy doesn't burn. It takes a little while for all of the candy melts to completely melt. Add a little heavy cream until it's the consistency you want.

4. Carefully spoon melted candy onto the cake and drip over the edge.

5. Immediately add your toppings!

  1. This is such a cute idea! The colors remind me of those "unicorn milkshakes" that I always seen on Instagram. I would absolutely love if this was my birthday cake :)
