Brunch Party Ideas: Lemon and Stripes Brunch

BRUNCH PARTY IDEAS: LEMON & STRIPES

Impress your guests with a gorgeous fruit and floral inspired display that is perfect for all occasions. This one, I designed for a little Mother's Day brunch at my house for my mom, my sister, and I. But you could really recreate this look for any occasion; showers, birthdays, special events. The yellow of the lemon from the DASANI® Sparkling really pops next to black and white which inspired the whole look. Find more inspiration for the springtime using DASANI here.

At Target the 8- pack slim cans are on sale for $2.99. All packs, all stores! They have a bunch of great new flavors to choose from. I found them in the water aisle on the top shelf.

You can drink them right out of the can (with a cute straw of course). And the sleek slim cans looked great on the table. The light, sparkling lemon flavor paired really well with the apps I was serving. I served a gorgeous fruit salad, perfect for brunch and the colors were perfect. I also served My favorite spinach cheese bars, which are just the perfect party food. Recipe for those below!

I found some plates with lemons on them that tied in perfectly to the theme. I laid them out so they would be decor but also functional for guests to easily grab. I also included a candy dish filled with lemons for a nice extra pop of color in addition to the pretty flowers (any party must have!)
The black and white paper floral runner was the perfect addition to jazz up the table and provided the perfect backdrop to the yellow. The frame can of course have any saying you'd like but "best day ever" was so fitting for a day with my mom and sister but could work for almost any special occasion.

The white paper flower chandelier, I also found at Target and hung from the ceiling in my home with a stick-on hook, easy but provides a big impact. The yellow floral banner, I made myself to hang on the other side of the table and draw the yellow up on the wall too.

Now on to the recipe! Spinach Cheese bars are and always has been one of my favorite things to serve at a party. I'm so happy to finally be sharing this recipe. It's filling, crowd pleasing, and can be served warm or cold. It's also incredibly easy to make.

Spinach Cheese Bars Recipe

2 tablespoons softened butter
3 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pound small cubed or shredded cheese (usually monterey jack or cheddar)
20oz frozen chopped spinach (2 boxed packages)
dash of onion powder

Preheat oven to 350.

Lightly grease 9x13in pan

Mix ingredients together and bake for 35-40 minutes.

Serve warm or at room temperature.

 I garnished mine with cherry tomatoes for an extra pop of color and a nice extra flavor. 

 The glasses were there for decor and also in case guests wanted them but DASANI Sparkling is actually perfect right out of the can, I just popped in some cute straws and they were ready to sip.
