Anthropologie Inspired Engagement Party

In honor of my little sister's wedding in Maine last week, I wanted to share photos from her engagement party 2 years ago. It was a surprise at a very old, historical restaurant on the water. Her fiance proposed at their house just before dinner and then we were all secretly waiting at the restaurant afterwards to surprise her. She started crying right when she walked in. It was soooo sweet! He planned the whole thing and my mom and I styled it together.

The theme we went with was sort of Anthropolgie inspired because that is definitely her style. Not too rustic and with a little eclectic vibe. The two tier white with gold leaf cake from Two Fat Cookies, was my favorite part, so classic and paired perfectly with the white and gold cake cutter set. We had wildflowers and succulents everywhere. The wildflowers were in vintage glass bottles from a local antique shop and the succulents were in gold mercury glass candle votives, some we propped up with rocks for a little extra personality. We also had a few gold candle sticks with classic white candles.

The quote that we used everywhere is one that they love, "It's All Happening". My sister's best friend made the wood sign on the cake table and we also had it printed on the napkins. I've always been a big fan of custom napkins for events. It gives it a nice personal touch.

We had handwritten place cards for each guest attached to a sprig of lavender. I actually still have mine because I thought it was so beautiful. Truth be told, we also bought a ton of eucalyptus for the tables and I forgot it at home! By the time we realized during set up, it was too late to go back. Luckily it still turned out ok.

Stay tuned, wedding photos are coming soon and you won't even believe how beautiful it was!
