5 Pieces Of Advice For Stay-At-Home Moms

You are a noble woman if you are a stay-at-home mom because it’s one of the toughest jobs in the world. While it’s rewarding and gratifying to be around your kids so much, it can also take a toll on your health and wellbeing over time if you don’t take good care of yourself.

There are five pieces of advice for stay-at-home moms to take into consideration in their journey to living a life that is pleasing for them and their family. This way you can keep everything in order and maintain a happier self and home life.
  1. Create A Weekly Task List

It’s important that you stay organized and are realistic about what you can get done each week. Plan ahead and write down your chore or task list and figure out what is a priority for you currently. One to-do will likely be cleaning and maintaining the home and doing the laundry. This can become overwhelming if you are doing laundry for many people and you have issues such as the washing machine won't drain. Try to stay calm in these instances and problem-solve so that you don’t let your stress build-up and keep you from having a productive week.
  1. Establish A Self-Care Routine

You need to feel and be well if you’re going to take good care of others. Therefore, you should establish a self-care routine and commit to sticking to it for the best results. Avoid pushing your needs and wellness to the back burner and speak up and ask for help when you require it. Try to stick to a regular sleep schedule and hop in the shower daily to reset. Also, focus on eating healthy meals and snacks so you have more natural energy and make time for regular exercise. You may need to get creative with your schedule or wake up early to do so.
  1. Maintain A Social Life & Relationships

Another piece of advice for stay-at-home moms is to maintain a social life and healthy relationships. Otherwise, you risk becoming isolated and feeling very alone and lonely. It’s important for your mental health that you have people who you can turn to and lean on and that you make time to laugh and have some fun. Be vulnerable and let others in and consider joining a local mom’s group to share insights and tips and as a way to make new friends.
  1. Get Out of the House Regularly

Feeling stuck inside the house all day taking care of the kids and trying to do it all will wear on you. Instead, make it a point to get out of the house regularly so you have a change of scenery and can experience some alone time. It may be that you go to the grocery store, head to the gym, or go out for lunch with a friend some days. At the very minimum consider taking walks in your neighborhood to get some fresh air and recharge. Mixing it up and keeping yourself busy with your own types of activities will be healthy for you.

    5. Keep it Simple

Holidays and special occasions come and go so fast every month or more. Keep it both simple and special with printables instead of running to the store and overspending each time. It will save any busy mama time and money too.
