I actually designed this Cinco de Mayo bar cart last year and didn't end up posting it on my blog because it was too close to the holiday itself. This year, I came across these photos again and I have to admit, I still love them. So no need to re-create another Cinco de Mayo bar cart for this year! Not to mention, I have a baby due on May 6th ;-) so with all my rushing around to get ready for her, this was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon. I'm kind of hoping for a Cinco de Mayo baby... wouldn't that be so fun? Fiestas every year! Anyway, read on for details about what I used on this fun Cinco de Mayo bar cart.
A FESTIVE CINCO DE MAYO BAR CART
So if I'm being honest, I used to really hate carnation flowers. But I've come around and I think in the right setting, they really are beautiful flowers. These multicolored ones looked so festive, I had to include them in my Cinco de Mayo bar cart. I used a clear and gold acrylic picture frame as a riser to give this little vignette some height. I also usually try to steer clear of faux flowers and plants that are within arms reach but succulents are the exception to my own rule. I picked this one up at Target and it was a perfect addition. The pink margaritas I served in my favorite glasses, coupe glasses, I use them for so many occasions. The drinks are just regular classic margaritas with a splash of grenadine for color and flavor. I'm always on the hunt for delicious pink drinks for my events, I'll include a roundup soon.
On the bottom of the Cinco de Mayo bar cart, the fabric is a lace table runner, folded, and draped and toped with some pillar candles that I had around the house. And what's a Cinco de Mayo bar cart without a mini piƱata and sombrero? I added those in with another succulent to complete the look. My gold bar cart is around $100, and you can find it here.
