Baby Girl Nursery Reveal

This crib was from Lilah's room, we are lucky enough to be having another girl and could use it again! I wasn't thinking when I bought all of Lilah's things before she was born and really went crazy on everything girly. I was originally going to do a Palm Beach themed room and then fell in love with the star theme when I saw it in the Pottery Barn catalog. I'm glad that's what we ended up with because I think it's a more classic look for our baby girl nursery that I won't get sick of easily. Above the crib I stuck these star decals to the wall. For a while I thought it needed something more, and I did order a gold star mobile to possibly fill in some more space but it's been growing on me just the way it is.

The very, very first thing I ordered for this baby girl nursery room when I settled on a theme was actually this playmat from Little Nomad. I got the Silver Lining in a 6x8. I've wanted one of these playmats since I saw it on Shark Tank forever ago. It looks exactly like a rug, is a beautiful color, fits the theme, and is so practical. It will be so much better than having just a regular rug in the room, Lilah already loves it and I'm sure the baby will too.

The pink mirror in the reading corner is from Home Goods, as is the chair. Lilah's room has pink walls and I wanted something different in this room  {but I can't have a girls room without pink no matter how hard I try} so I swapped colors and did grey walls with pink curtains instead. And yes, they are blackout curtains! My quest to have a chandelier in every room has not stopped here. This chandelier is a steal under $200 and looks so pretty hanging in her room. It's plenty of lighting on it's own too. We had it installed on a dimmer so it won't be too bright for nighttime feedings either.

Once of all that was decided, and the dresser was moved in and star mirrors were hung, I was left with a big empty wall and wasn't quite sure what to do with it. When I have an empty space that I'm not sure how to fill, I try not to randomly, temporarily fill it with things, I leave it empty until I find the perfect fit and I'm glad I did. While flipping through yet another Pottery Barn Kids catalog {they really get ya, don't they?} I saw this mural and knew it was just the thing! It takes a visual space and not actual space, perfect. Then I stumbled on the canopy idea on Pinterest and thought it would be a sweet little space for the girls to share.

  1. Oh my gosh that nursery is so darling!! I'd love to be able to decorate for a little girl someday. I did a very gender neutral nursery for my son with clouds as the main design element.
