Palm Beach Baby Shower

Just before the end of the summer, I'm finally sharing this pretty Palm Beach baby shower that we threw back when I was pregnant with my now 1 year old. My mom and I planned this together for our long time family friend, in my home.

We are both named Jess and we both became pregnant, with girls, within a few months of each other, which was so fun for us. She is not originally from here, so she had a big baby shower back home in NC with her closest family and friends. She still wanted to have a small baby shower down here in FL to celebrate her first baby with her new friends too. My mom and I, the party lovers that we are, immediately stepped in to plan it for her. We wanted the theme to represent her new home down here in FL, so a Palm Beach theme baby shower it was!

How to Throw a Palm Beach Inspired Baby Shower

Similar to my baby sprinkle, we moved all of the furniture to accommodate tables and chairs for 36 people. We used blush table linens with tropical paper placemats in front of each guest. When guests arrived, the first thing they saw was the cake table flanked by real hibiscus trees and the long seated tables with ghost chairs. The hibiscus trees doubled as a special gift to their family. The wall that housed the cake table was covered in pink striped wrapping paper to perfectly match the theme. The vintage cut, blush pink plates were alongside shiny gold utensils and custom printed guest towel napkins. Onesie cookies were the favors that also doubled as decor. Faux banana leaves ran down the center of every table with DIY hydrangea and pink rose centerpieces on top. The mama to be and her hubby sat in chairs that were custom monogrammed with their initials for a special touch.
We decided to keep it simple and forwent any games but rather just ate food, cake, and watched the new mama open all her gifts. In my experience, a game or two can be fun but they certainly add a lot of time to an event. I like to aim for a 2 hour party for events that are mid-day and thought it would be ok to skip the games, and it was perfect.
