How to Plan the Perfect Mom's Night In

Thank you to Harry & David for sponsoring this post.

Now that summer has come to an end and school is back in session, the moms can finally breathe a bit now. Don't get me wrong, I love spending summers with my girls home but it's definitely a lot of work, as fun as it is. It's nice to get together with my mom friends once in a while after the chaos of summer days has stopped. We love to just do a low-key night in someone's home which always calls for wine. And what pairs better with wine than cheese? Honestly, I rarely have any gathering that doesn't include a cheese board. Here's how you can plan your own mom's night in.
Harry and David Mom's Night In
1. Cheese: First things first, you gotta have cheese. Like I said, cheese boards are necessary for any and all occasions. Harry & David has a new collection of food for entertaining, everything from cheeses to full meals, to desserts. I ordered the Gourmet Organic Charcuterie and Cheese Collection. I liked how it came with meat, cheese, and crackers, all that pair well together so I didn't even need to think about it. It made planning the menu so easy for me. I displayed it all on a cheese board and threw in some fresh fruit that I already had in the fridge and it was good to go. Everyone loved it!
2. Wine: A close second to cheese, is wine. I saw that Harry & David added a sparkling wine to their line up and I figured "why not" and I'm glad I did. It was a very light wine with pear and apple flavors that was perfect for a small, home gathering with chatty moms. My guests enjoyed the wine and I enjoyed the ease of ordering everything from one place straight to my home.

3. Decor: For a simple mom's night in, I didn't want to go all out with decor. I kept it simple by lighting a candle and placing some flowers on the coffee table with chateau napkins from Harry & David. That was enough to add a little ambiance and intention to the event. There's no need for anything extra, intimate gatherings are all about the company...and wine ;-)

Entertaining does not have to be difficult or intimidating. Harry & David Gourmet makes it easy to pull off a Mom's Night at home or any occasion for that matter. They are no longer just for gift baskets, think of them for home entertaining as well. It will save you a lot of time and effort and you'll be sure to impress your guests.
